Manisa'nın Turgutlu ilçesi 121,020'lik bir nüfusa sahiptir. Sultan II. Murad dönemide Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun egemenliğine girdi. Ege Denizi'nden 55km doğuda, deniz seviyesinden 78 metre yüksekte yer alır. İklimi ve coğrafi konumu sayesinde Turgutlu'da zengin yelpazede tarım yapmak mümkündür. Turgutlu topraklarının %54'ü tarıma yapmaya uygundur. Üzüm, pamuk, tütün, domates, buğday, kiraz, şeftali ve erik başlıca yetiştirilen ürünlerdir. Son yıllarda Turgutlu, geçirdiği değişimle birlikte sanayileşme yönünde büyük adımlar atmaktadır. İlçedeki en turistik bölgelerden bir tanesi de Urganlı Kaplıcalarıdır. Sıcaklığı 62-67 derece arasında değişen kaplıcalardan faydalanrak şifa bulmak mümküdür. Kaplıcaların tarihi 1600'lü yıllara dayanır. |
Turgutlu county of Manisa has a population of 121,020. Established under Ottoman Empire during Sultan Murad II's reign. Situated 55km east of Aegean Sea and 78 metres high of sea level. The climate and geographical position of Turgutlu allows policultural agriculture. As a matter of fact, 54 per cent of the county's lands is eligible for agriculture. Grape, cotton, tobacco, tomato, wheat, berry, peach and plum and grape are the leading elements of production. However, Turgutlu is now undergoing some major changes and taking giant steps in terms of industrialization. The most touristic location in the county is the Urganlı Thermal Baths. The temperature of the water changes between 62 to 67 degree Celcius. Those thermal baths were first mentioned in the books of history around 1600s. |
