5 PERSONAL STATEMENT FROM THE PRESIDENT Distinguished members of European football family, As the President of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), I am proud and excited to show the world what our country can achieve through the most glorious sports event in Europe, by hosting UEFA EURO 2024. We have the best location. We are the only UEFA member association bridging two continents, the geographical centre of the world, connecting the Eastern and Western civilisations, where the traditional meets modern and beliefs unite. We love football. Football is our greatest passion. Football brings people together and enjoys an unprecedented potential of influence, strengthening our ties with one another. As one of the most important sports tournaments in the world, UEFA EURO 2024 will significantly contribute to the advancement of sport in Turkey through the development of football players and promotion and use of football facilities. Sports belongs to the entire world and to all humanity. Nothing else can touch our hearts and reach out to every corner of our country the way football does. TFF understands this responsibility and football’s amazingly positive social impact on the society. We embrace diversity. Hosting visitors from every corner of the world is a high honour and a great responsibility. We consider this event a tool to bring the world together under the common values of humanity to help everyone to eradicate prejudices. We are a nation that has a rich history, always welcoming different cultures based on our belief that differences bring about diversity which, in turn, generates enrichment. We are eager to welcome the world to this land of wonders. We remain convinced that hosting UEFA EURO 2024 will be a true opportunity for reunification, gathering European cultures to celebrate and 'SHARE TOGETHER' the common passion for football. This event will light up the lives of our youth across the country and will provide them with new role models by underlining that there is always a place for everyone regardless of wealth, gender, race, ethnicity, and physical attributes. We have worked tirelessly to submit the best bid. The continuous effort we have put forward for consecutive high-priority events like European Football Championship, demonstrates TFF’s contributions to enrich the existing friendship between Turkey and the home of European football. What makes us most proud is the work and effort that we have put in to this journey. We have considered every idea, every possibility, and every detail to make this the best tournament that UEFA has ever hosted. We have supplied all the guarantees and more to maximise UEFA’s revenues. In return, we know that this will come back to the European football and our fellow member associations as solidarity, which will benefit the development of football. We have the full backing of the Government and our people. This world-class event not only has the full support of all necessary governmental institutions, but also the backing of the Turkish people. We are working together with the Government, our candidate host cities, universities and NGOs to make this an unforgettable event. We are ready. The Republic of Turkey has mobilised huge resources for globally distinctive infrastructure projects and stadia investments in accordance with ‘Vision 2023’ to commemorate its centenary. As well as from being a privilege, the UEFA EURO 2024 will be an opportunity for TFF to emphasise our competent professionalism in hosting such important organisations in Turkey. We are determined that 2024 will be our year, topping off the celebrations we will hold throughout 2023. We stand for the promise of the ‘World’s Favourite Game’ , unifying people from all walks of life. We have never given up. We have never given up on our goal of hosting a EURO tournament. Every bid preparation gave us even more expertise in reaching our ultimate target of organising this prestigious UEFA event. Each time, we learned by experience, we never gave up, but most importantly we never lost our enthusiasm. As the President of Turkish Football Federation, I am personally committed to ensuring these values and commitments indicated in this bid remain preeminent. To successfully carry out our mission, we need to foster and maintain a culture of inclusiveness and a respect for diversity. On behalf of the Turkish Football Federation, our employees, our football fans, and the people of Turkey, we are committed to delivering an exceptional UEFA EURO 2024 that is fun, safe and friendly. To achieve this, let me assure you that I will commit myself to every opportunity and work together with UEFA.
