U19 National Team, coached by Feyyaz Uçar, defeated Russia 2-1 in their first match of UEFA 2013 U19 European Championship Elite Round Group 7 which is held in Krasnodar, Russia.
The match was played in Krasnodar Academy Stadium, Krasnodar, Russia and Turkey grabbed the win by Ahmet Yılmaz Çalık's double-strike on 74th and 82nd minutes while, the olny goal of Russia came from Vladislav Ovsyannikov by penalty on 19th minute.
In group's other match of the day, Italy beat Ukraine 1-0.
U19s will face Italy in their second match of the group on 24 May 2013 Friday at 15.00 with Turkish local time.
In the elite round, 25 qualifiers join the three top seeds given byes in seven mini-tournament groups of four. The group winners then join the hosts in the finals which will be held in Lithuania between 20 July - 1 August.
