TFF President Yıldırım Demirören declared that TFF has applied to UEFA for being a canditate to host UEFA EURO 2020 at today. Demirören claimed that Turkey which had also lost to host EURO 2016 with only one vote behind France, has deserved to host 2011/2012 UEFA U19 European Championship and 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup with the effect of being the sixth largest football economy in Europe.

''The canditateship of Turkey to become a host of EURO 2020, was putted into words during 36th UEFA Congress which was held in İstanbul, Turkey on last month.  Besides, in this period;  the construction of modern stadiums around the whole country with the guarantee of the government and increase the transportation opportunities are the most important elements which we had take support for the acceptment of our canditateship to host EURO 2020.'' TFF President added.

The application form of UEFA EURO 2020 canditateship will be end on 15 May 2012. If there will be no other candidate until this day, UEFA will start the conversations for being a host. If there will be any other canditates until the deadline then, the canditateship process will start and to be continued 18 months. At the end of this process, the host countrty of UEFA EURO 2020 will be announced on December 2013 or January 2014.
