U19 National Team drew against Wales 3-3 by two last minute goals in their first match of 2010-11 UEFA European U19 Qualification Round Group 1 which is held in Wales. The match was played in Richmond Park Stadium, Carmarthen, Wales and Turkey's goals came from Engin Bekdemir (Min.7), Ufuk Özbek (Min.59) and Muhammet Demir (Min.61). On the other side, Holloway (Min.57), Bradshaw (Min.90+1) and Matthews (Min.90+5) by penalty hit the target for Wales.

In the day's other match of the group, Iceland beat Kazakhstan 4-0.

U19s will face Kazakhstan on 22 October 2010 at 19.00 Turkish local time in their second match of the group.

The 52 associations participating in the 2010-2011 UEFA European U19 Championship Qualifying Round are drawn into 13 groups of four teams. The 13 group winners, the 13 runners-up and the two best third-ranked teams from the qualifying round play the Elite Round. To determine the two best third-placed teams from the qualifying round, only the results of the third-placed team against the winners and runners-up in each group are taken into account. Elite Round is conducted to place the 28 participating associations into seven groups of four teams each. The 7 group winners qualify to the Final Round which will be hosted by Romania in the summer of 2011. The host association of the final round - Romania - qualifies automatically for the final round.
