U17 Women's National Team, coached by Taygun Erdem, lost to Denmark 3-1 in their last match of 2011-12 UEFA U17 Women's European Championship First Qualifying Round Group 7 which was played in Mirko Vucurevic Stadium, Banatski Dvor, Serbia. With this result; U17 Women's finished the group in 3rd place and lost their chance to qualify to second qualifying round of the tournament. Turkey's only goal of the game cam from (Min. 37 Ebru Topçu) while, Emilie Brondum Jensen (Min. 4) and Sarah Hansen (Min. 40+3 and 77) hit the target for Denmark.
In the day's other match of the group, hosts Serbia beat Greece 3-0. At the end of first qualifying round Group 7, Denmark and Serbia reached to the second qualifying round by finishing the group in top two.

The 40 associations participating in the first qualifying round are drawn into10 groups of four teams. The two teams with a bye for the first qualifying round, the 10 group winners and the four best runners-up from the first qualifying round play the second qualifying round. A draw for the second qualifying round is conducted to place the 16 participating associations into four groups of four teams each. The UEFA administration establishes the draw procedure and communicates it prior to the draw. On completion of the second qualifying round, the four group winners qualify for the final round. The final round will take place in June 2012 at Colovray Stadium opposite UEFA's Swiss headquarters in Nyon.
