Turkey have drawn 1-1 against Belgium in their second 2010 World Cup qualifying match and dropped their first points at Group 5. Wesley Sonck put the visitors ahead with a header on 31st minute, while Emre Belözoğlu leveled the game with a penalty on 74th minute.

Jan Verthongen's free-kick met Wesley Sonck inside the penalty area and 30-year-old player headed the ball into the net. In the second half, Turkey increased their pressure on Belgium and Turkey's equalizer came on 74th minute. Gökhan Gönül tried to enter Belgium's penalty area but Axel Witsel handballed and the referee pointed to the spot. Emre Belözoğlu made no mistake from the spot and leveled the game.
