Young girls representing different countries of the world had the opportunity to compete and get to know each others' cultures in UEFA WU16 Friendship Tournament hosted by Turkish Football Federation at Hasan Doğan National Teams Camp and Training Facilities in Riva.

United States became the champion of the tournament by defeating Paraguay 4-2 in penalties after a goalless draw in 90 minutes.

Kazakhstan Football Federation President Adilet Barmenkulov and UEFA National Federations Committee Members watched the match played at Hasan Doğan National Teams Camp and Training Facilities from the stands.

Turkish Football Federation President Mehmet Büyükekşi, Deputy President, Executive Board Member Responsible for FIFA, UEFA Relations and Foreign Affairs Mustafa Eröğüt, Board Member Responsible for National Teams Hamit Altıntop, Board Member Responsible for Law, Women's Football and Sustainability Şafak Müderrisgil and Women's National Team Coach Necla Güngör Kıragası, UEFA National Federations Committee President Servet Yardımcı and UEFA National Federations Director Zoran Laković attended the cup ceremony held after the final match.

Mehmet Büyükekşi: "We are developing projects for the advancement of women's football in Türkiye"

Giving a speech before the cup ceremony, TFF President Mehmet Büyükekşi said, "Welcome to the home of Turkish football. It is a great pleasure and honor for Turkish Football Federation to host the first of UEFA Friendship Tournaments which is the biggest international event ever held in Riva. We hosted U16 national teams from Botswana, China, Paraguay, Uganda, USA, Vietnam and Wales in this organization. As Turkish Football Federation, who is aware of the meaning, importance and value of women's football, we are developing projects for the advancement of women's football in Türkiye."

Underlining that the tournament was productive in every aspect, President Büyükekşi claimed, "Thank you for sharing your skills, knowledge and beautiful cultures during the last ten days. I was really happy to watch the matches and see you interact with each other on and off the field. We would like to thank our professional staff who made the organization go perfectly. I would like to thank all those who contributed, including the referees and the tournament director. This was a real team effort and I thank all of you for this. We would like to thank UEFA and the national federations for their trust in us as hosts. During the cup ceremony, TFF Deputy President, Executive Board Member Responsible for FIFA, UEFA Relations and Foreign Affairs Mustafa Eröğüt, Board Member Responsible for National Teams Hamit Altıntop and Board Member Responsible for Law, Women's Football and Sustainability Şafak Müderrisgil will be with us. Our Women's National Team Coach Necla Güngör Kıragası will also join us."

"Never forget the importance of friendships and mutual learning in your career"

Referring to the importance of friendship and communication in football, President Büyükekşi declared, "I would like to congratulate USA, which completed the tournament as champions, Paraguay which came as runner-ups in the tournament, China which came in 3rd place, our Women's U16 National Team which came in 4th place, and all the teams that have become a part of this organization. I wish success to our national team in UEFA Friendship Tournament to be held in Belarus next week. As I conclude my words, I will give you a final message: Never forget the importance of friendships and mutual learning in your career. I wish you all safe journeys to your countries and good luck for the future. I greet you with love and respect."

Our Women's U16 National Team finished the tournament in the 4th place

Our Women's U16 National Team, which faced China in the 3rd place match, lost 1-0 to their opponent and finished the tournament in the 4th place. Ye Xinyi scored the only goal of the match in the 59th minute.

Vietnam booked the 5th place and Uganda booked the 7th place in the tournament

In the other matches of the day, Uganda defeated Botswana 3-2 and finished the tournament in the 7th place, while Vietnam defeated Wales 4-3 in penalties after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes and finished the tournament in the 5th place.

Following the cup ceremony held after all the matches played, all teams and spectators in the tournament came together at the dinner organization held at the facilities.
