Müttefikimiz, Avrupa Birli¤i’nde orta¤›m›z, ayn›
edildi¤i 1924 y›l›ndan bu yana daima dostane
tarihinde ziyaret etmifltir. Ayr›ca, Çek Cumhurbaflkan›
Say›n Vaclav Klaus, beraberinde tarihinin en
kalabal›k ifladamlar› heyetiyle birlikte, 14-16 fiubat
2012 tarihlerinde Ankara, Adana ve Mersin’i ziyaret
etmifl, ‹fl Konseyi toplant›lar›na kat›lm›flt›r.
Ülkeler aras›ndaki dostluk ba¤lar›n›n
oluflturulmas›nda flüphesiz sportif faaliyetlerin de
katk›s› büyüktür. Ülkemizden Çek Cumhuriyeti’ne
son y›llarda judo, karate, basketbol, futbol, voleybol,
Lig tak›mlar›m›zda oynayan Tomas Sivok, Tomas
Zapotocny, Milan Baros, Tomas Ujfalusi, Ondrej
Celustka, Milan Cerny, Petr Janda, Tomas Rada,
Jaroslav Jarny, Roman Bednar, Jan Rajnoch, Borek
ülkemizde büyük be¤eni ve takdir toplam›flt›r.
Öte yandan, 2001-2002 y›llar›nda k›sa bir süre de
olsa Galatasaray tak›m›m›zda forma giyen, bugün 37
yafl›na gelmifl olmas›na ra¤men halen F.C. Victoria
Plzen tak›m›nda top koflturan deneyimli oyuncu Pavel
kald›klar› Almanya’y› penalt› at›fllar› sonucu yenerek
flampiyon olduklar› final maç›nda usta oyuncu
Antonin Panenka’n›n tecrübeli Alman kaleci Maier’e
y›llar geçmesine ra¤men bugün hâlâ hat›rlanmaktad›r.
unutulmayacakt›r.
ortamda geçece¤ine dair inanc›m› ifade ediyor, her
seyirler diliyorum.
Sayg›lar›mla.
Ever since the establishment of our diplomatic relations
in 1924, our relationship with the Czech Republic,
which is an allied country, our partner in the EU, with
which we share universal values with has always been
friendly; after the transition to democracy of
Czechoslovakia in 1989 our relations in the political,
economic and cultural fields have developed steadily
and contact between the peoples of both countries has
intensified.
Today, the political will and commitment to further
enhance our continuing friendly relations and increase
cooperation in every possible field exists on both sides
and activities towards this end are pursued. High level
visits between our countries are being held regularly.
Recently, H.E. the Prime Minister together with an
important delegation visited the Czech Republic on 4
February 2013. Also, President of the Czech Republic
H.E. Mr. Vaclav Klaus visited Ankara, Adana and
Mersin together with the largest ever delegation of
businessmen in Czech history on 14-16 February 2012
and participated in Business Council Meetings.
There is no doubt that sporting activities play an
important role in the establishment of friendly relations
between counties. In the last years the number of
Turkish athletes visiting the Czech Republic to compete
in sports such as judo, karate, basketball, football,
volleyball, gymnastics, swimming, figure skating and
underwater rugby has increased. Therefore, it would not
be wrong to say that truly friendly ties between our
countries in this respect have been established.
It is also a fact that many famous Czech Footballers
who play in Turkey add excitement to our league and
contribute to the success of Turkish teams and Turkish
football in general. Prominent Czech Footballers who
play in our Super League Teams such as Tomas Sivok,
Tomas Zapotocny, Milan Baros, Tomas Ujfaluji, Ondrej
Celustka, Milan Cerny, Petr Janda, Tomas Rada, Jaroslav
Jarny, Roman Bendar, Jan Raynoch, Borek Dockal and
Martin Klein are appreciated and admired. I also
believe that it would also be appropriate to mention an
experienced Czech footballer, who is now 37 years of
age and is playing for F.C. Victoria Plzen, Pavel
Horvath who played for a short term for Galatasaray
between the years 2001-2002.
The final of Euro1976 where the score was 2-2 and the
Czechs became champions winning against the
Germans in a penalty shootout, with the skilled Antonín
Panenka sensationally chipping the ball past the
experienced German Goalkeeper Maier and scoring a
goal which would later become a part of world football
history and be referred to as the “Panenka Penalty” is
still remembered today even after all these years.
The wonderfully exciting final minutes of the Euro2008
quarter final match between Turkey and the Czech
Republic, which has gone down in history as one of the
most exciting matches of the European Cup, still remain
in our memories. The goals scored by Arda and Nihat
in the last 15 minutes of the match where the Turkish
National Team was losing with 2-0 against the Czech
team and the final goal by Nihat which brought victory
to the Turkish side making the score 3-2 will not be
forgotten for years to come.
I would like to express my belief that the match to be
held in Manisa on 6 February 2013 between the Turkish
and Czech National Teams will likewise be played in
an exciting, delightful and friendly atmosphere. I would
also like to wish success to the players of both teams
and an enjoyable match for the supporters.
Sincerely.
